speech intelligibility. The Speech Comfort System
is a result of intensive research and a key feature
in all S700 models - from the CIC to the Super
Power BTE instrument.
TwinMic™-and TriMic™-System:
S700 stands for innovative and approved directional
technology. 2 or even 3 microphones are combined
to a powerful hearing system, so that speech signals
can be heard easily in very noisy surroundings.
Adaptive
directionality:
Moving noise sources are no problem for S700:
The adaptive microphones adjust to the situation
and suppress the noise sources.
Softfading:
When S700 adapts its signal processing to different
hearing situations, you will certainly hear the
result, but not the transition itself. The signal
processing of S700 operates smoothly and almost
unnoticeable.

life provides many different hearing situations.
For each one of these situations different
strategies have to be applied to achieve
a minimal effort in hearing and maximized
speech intelligibility.
S700 is the first hearing system which
can distinguish between 6 different hearing
situations. Based on various parameters,
which are extracted from the incoming signal,
S700 decides, whether it is speech, speech
in noise or environmental sounds like wind
or traffic noise. This is what we call Automatic
Situation Detection.
With regard to the hearing situation, the
signal optimisation of S700 uncovers speech
from background noise and suppresses the sounds
of the noise sources. This ensures a clear understanding
of speech with minimal hearing effort.
Many
hearing instrument users are annoyed by wind noise.
S700's wind noise reduction system offers help.
It is activated automatically and reduces the
inconvenient effects.
